Location :   About two miles to the east of the museum

Period:   it belongs to the period 1st-5th century A.D

Type of Structure:  Ancient Stupa and Monastic 

Present Condition :  

(i)                 Extensive exploration and excavation required on the site.

(ii)               Need of promotional and tourism plan.

(iii)             Restoration work needed.

(iv)             Preservation processes are to be initiated

  1. The Stupa at Taxila was established to commemorate that legend although the existing remains cover an older stupa which has not been dated yet. The latest remains are dated to the 3rd-4th Cent CE.
